ISLA 2005 Module Specifications

Administrative Module

    1. View the initial set up of the basic static information that will serve as reference point for everyday transactions that the system application will process.

    2. Define Savings products, and business rules. Define an unlimited number of different savings products.

    3. Define an unlimited number of different Loans products and associated business rules with many different calculation models, inclusive of prepaid, amortized and dynamic interest, configurable penalties and surcharge parameters, comaker requirements and calculation models as well as availment requirements.

    4. Control the account postings for the accounting modules in detail.

    5. Define User Access Rights and profiles and other relevant data about the organization’s daily business processes.

Membership Module

    holds all the information of the organization’s registered members, inclusive of contact info,employee information inclusive resignation, retirement status, payroll information etc. The information for owned accounts, loans availed and co-made or guaranteed by the member and the historic payroll remittances can also be viewed from this module. This module as every other module in ISLA 2005 is automatically updated by the system each time a transaction has been effected and posted from the other modules. A number of members relevant reports can be generated from this module.

Accounting Module

    allows you to set up the Chart of Accounts that holds the listing of all the accounts in the general ledger. Further allows you to do general business accounting outside the realm of normal S&L operations like inter branch money transfers or other general purpose accounting transactions. Take out a complete Profit and Loss statement for any period at any time through this module.

Savings Module

    create, view, modify and post a transaction for a member’s savings accounts. It shows a trail of a member’s savings account ownership, his accumulated effected savings transactions and all relevant information like his loan accounts mainly for viewing purposes. ISLA 2005 is capable of holding multiple savings accounts for each member or many members holding shared accounts in any combination. A large number of relevant reports can be generated directly from this module.

Loans Module

    the Loans Module is where we can create new loans, view, modify and post a transaction for a member’s loan/loans account. The loans module validates loan applications according to the rules set up for every loan product type in the Administrative module. Further co-maker requirements and registrations are handled on a per loan account per member basis. ISLA 2005 keeps track of active and inactive comakerings as well as the quality of comakers automatically. It also holds a trail of a member’s loans account ownership, his accumulated existing loan transactions and all other relevant information mainly for viewing purposes. Varied loans relevant reports can be generated from this module.

Remittance Module

    create the savings and loans billing information that needs to be forwarded to payroll offices for loan payments and savings contribution on a per member per account basis. We also can enter member fund contributions for payments that are paid off over-the-counter, directly to the SLAI. It is also possible to track savings contribution gaps and loan delinquencies on this module.

Dividends Module

    calculate the dividend shares due to the members of the SLAI. The dividend rate, computation and distribution schedule can be chosen accordingly to the required method to arrive to a correct number of shares to be given on per account per member basis. More than eight different dividends calculation models are available in the standard version of ISLA 2005.

Teller Module

    quick access point for viewing or querying and posting daily transactions for every member’s savings and loan accounts. It holds all the basic historical information regarding a member’s savings and loan accounts. The Teller module has its own facility to handle day-to-day transacting functionalities that will be essential for any SLAI organization.

ARCHITECTURE

  • Developed on Microsoft .NET technology platform.

  • Client/Server architecture using SQL SERVER 2000 database.

  • Will run on Windows XP and/or Windows 2000 OS Multi-user and network ready.

  • Designed for enterprise-strength transaction processing allowing multiple users to post transactions without fear of locking or corrupting the database.

  • On-line entry, update, delete and inquiry transacting.

  • Real-time processing and updating.

USER INTERFACE

  • Windows-based interface allows a user-friendly experience.

  • Easy to use menus and tool bar icons.

  • Sensible search facility makes inquiring a particular record an easy task.

REPORTING

  • Comprehensive set of reports can be extracted from each module.

  • Option to generate reports for screen viewing, printing or extraction to an Excel file for further review or printing.

SECURITY

  • Security system provides different access level down to individual users.

  • Each individual user can be assigned restricted program access like read, write and print privileges.

  • Privileges granted to each user will be the same regardless of which workstation in the network they log on to.

AUDIT TRAIL

  • Auditing can be done on login, logout, open, create, edit, approve, delete and print actions

  • Audit data can be exported as files (text, Excel, etc.) for archiving purposes.

  • Check on what users have worked on and monitor productivity.

NETWORKING

  • ISLA 2005 does not require much bandwidth. It is designed from the ground up to allow branches to stay online with the system using nothing more than a dial up telephone line (however better access will improve the responsiveness of the system)

  • Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 Server Std. Edition with an appropriate number of CAL (Client Access Licenses)

DATABASE

  • At least MSDE (2000) for very small S&L organizations or preferably a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Std. Edition with an appropriate number of CAL (Client access licenses)
